Walter Pitts

Walter Pitts (23. huhtikuuta 1923 – 14. toukokuuta 1969) oli yhdysvaltalainen loogikko, joka työskenteli kognitiivisen psykologian alalla. Hän tutki neuraalisen toiminnan teoreettisia muotoiluja ja emergenttejä prosesseja. Hänen tutkimuksensa koskettivat kognitiotiedettä, psykologiaa, filosofiaa, neurotieteitä, tietojenkäsittelytiedettä, tekoälytytkimusta, neuroverkkotutkimusta ja kybernetiikkaa.

Pitts muistetaan ennen kaikkea yhdessä Warren McCullochin kanssa kirjoittamastaan artikkelista "A Logical Calculus of Ideas Immanent in Nervous Activity" (1943).
