Vernon Township is one of twelve townships in Jackson County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 3,402 and it contained 1,442 housing units.[1]

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 43.07 square miles (111.6 km2), of which 43.03 square miles (111.4 km2) (or 99.91%) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) (or 0.09%) is water.[3] The stream of Lewis Branch runs through this township.
