Steven Benjamin „Steve“ Goodman (* 25. Juli 1948 in Chicago; † 20. September 1984 in Seattle) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger und Komponist der Folkmusik.

Sein größter Erfolg war das Lied City of New Orleans. Zwar nicht in seiner Interpretation von 1971, aber vom Sänger Arlo Guthrie gesungen, erreichte das Lied Platz 18 der US-Charts im Jahr 1972. Anschließend war es ein beliebter Coversong vieler bekannter Musiker und Interpreten. Die bekannteste deutsche Interpretation ist Wann wird’s mal wieder richtig Sommer? Zu seinen Lebzeiten erschienen zehn Musikalben, postum folgten zwei Produktionen und drei Livemitschnitte von Konzerten.

Steve Goodman erkrankte mit 20 Jahren an Leukämie, woran er 1984 im Alter von 36 Jahren starb.
